University Centre Colchester (UCC) offers a range of foundation and honours degrees, together with HNC/Ds, higher apprenticeships and postgraduate study.

UCC is the Higher Education provision of Colchester Institute, which has a 50 year history of providing undergraduate and postgraduate education in the region. The provision has a diverse range of popular subjects including engineering, construction, business, IT & computing, health and social care, art, digital media, performance and film production. Developed in partnership with employers and professional awarding bodies, the programmes on offer are research informed and designed to meet industry needs. Employability is at the core of all programmes, with work placements, internships, guest lecturers and industry visits providing opportunities to acquire the skills and knowledge employers are looking for. UCC is committed to delivering a high quality learning experience to each individual and has been recognised for its standard of teaching by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, who granted UCC with a Silver Award under the Teaching Excellence Framework in 2017.

The 1,100 students who study at UCC benefit from a high level of contact time with lecturers, smaller class sizes and excellent facilities, alongside access to specialist advice from the careers welfare and finance teams. Students value their small teaching groups and ready access to academic staff who know their students well and provide individualised support and guidance. As a result UCC students succeed in developing the skills and knowledge most valued by employers, evidenced by high levels of relevant employment at the need of their programme.
