With thousands of courses and hundreds of universities to choose from, we don’t blame you if you aren’t sure where to begin. The important thing is understanding all of your options, and then finding a clear route to turn your ambitions into a reality.
A great starting point for looking at courses is the UCAS website which lists every course available in the UK. You can browse by subject or easily search by type of course, name of the university, or location
Once you’ve done your research and found the perfect course, the next stage is applying.
All applications to universities in the UK must be made through UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service). You’ll need to complete the UCAS online application form, where you’ll register your personal details and pick up to five of your favourite courses . You will need to submit a personal statement, as well as an academic reference. but don’t worry – we’ve got plenty of info on these.
Once you’ve submitted your form by the deadline, your chosen universities will consider your application (which can be a bit of a waiting game) and then, fingers crossed, will make you an offer of a place, which will normally depend on your exam results.
Once you’ve received your offers, it’s decision-making time as you’ll have to pick your top two choices. Then, it’s all about knuckling down, getting those grades, and before you know it, you’ll be off to uni.
